FIT PERFECTLY WITH SEISMIK

The dimension of nuclear waste is truly mind-boggling. Human-created nuclear waste is incredibly harmful for hundreds of thousands of years. We have to imagine that the impact of our activities stretches far into a nonhuman future.

Focuses on nuclear aesthetics from the atomic sublime to radioactive divinity, AFTERSHOCK offers a poetic take on the CONSEQUENCES OF SEVERAL BRUTAL TOPOLOGICAL SHOCKS.

EXPLORING THE AMBIGUITY OF REALISM IN POST-HUMAN LANDSCAPES, HERMAN KOLGEN CREATES THREE-DIMENSIONAL SIMULATIONS THROUGH THE INSTABILITY OF DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS AND CONVERTS THEM INTO LARGE-SCALE CINEMATIC VISUALS. DURING THE PERFORMANCE, HE BUILDS MULTI-LAYERED AUDIO SEDIMENTATIONS THAT EMPHASIZE THIS CARTOGRAPHY OF CATASTROPHE.

HE ALSO DEVELOPS A DIGITAL ARGENTIC PROCESS THAT LENDS A POST-SEISMIC AESTHETIC TO HIS WORK. ON STAGE, HE CAN PERFORM SOLO OR WITH LIVE MUSICIANS HAILING FROM THE HOST COUNTRIES, WHO FOLLOW HIS GRAPHIC SCORE.
